On October 26, 2018 at about 1:46 am Police responded to a vehicle fire in the area of Tutu Valley. Upon arrival police discovered a body of a man “burned beyond recognition” inside the vehicle. The body was found inside a burned four-door Toyota Camry.

On October 27, 2018, at around 3:40 pm, 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots being fired in the Mutual Homes Housing Complex, St. Croix. Upon the arrival of police officers, they discovered an unresponsive Hispanic male lying on the parking lot ground just outside the apartment building. The victim who was later identified as 25-year-old David Gonzalez was pronounced dead by medical technicians.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Gonzalez was leaving an apartment building with a female companion when he was approached by three masked individuals who shot him multiple times to the upper body.
