On July 9, 2013, at approximately 2:00 pm., 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched St. Croix police units to shots fired in the residential area on the northern side of Estate Glynn. Within 10 minutes a subsequent call reported that two individuals, 28-year- old Kenya Lawrence and her 7-year-old son, Devontae Charles, had been brutally gunned down in their Estate Glynn home and were pronounced dead at the scene. According to the police report, Lawrence and Devontae were in the home along with her 2-year- old twins. The toddlers were not physically harmed in the incident.

At approximately 7:39 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016, St. Thomas police responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Emancipation Garden by the fire station. A preliminary investigation conducted by officers at the scene revealed that the victim, a firefighter identified as Gregory Louis, was sitting outside on a bench when an unknown suspect shot him in the back of his head.

A private entity is offering an additional reward in conjunction with Crime Stoppers USVI for information leading to the arrest of any individual involved in this crime.
