On Monday, April 17, 2017 at approximately 3:33 a.m. a citizen called 911 and reported shots fired in the area of Bolongo Bay 25.  Upon arrival to the scene the Officer observed a male sitting behind the driver’s seat of a vehicle motionless. The victim sustained what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his body and was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the scene. The deceased was later identified as Niyem Jamil. Please help police solve this murder.

In the early morning of Sunday August 18, 2013, at approximately 5 a.m. Ms. Maldine Forter Hector was walking to church with her 4-year-old grandson in Christiansted along North Shore Road, in the area North West of the District Court, when she was struck by a vehicle that did not stop. Ms. Maldine Forter Hector died at the scene, leaving the 4-year-old alone and in shock.

At the time of the incident the VIPD Traffic Investigations Unit was asking the entire community to be on the lookout for a black or dark colored Suzuki with front-end damage. Anyone who was driving in the area and saw anything unusual please, say something. All body shops and car repair businesses have been asked to report anyone presenting a vehicle fitting this description.

Six years has passed without any lead into the death of Ms. Maldine Forter Hector and someone out there knows something. Let’s bring some closure to the family of this hit and run.
